What hunting rifle should i get for my kid.?
This will be a rifle for hunting out here in Arizona. I was thinking about getting him a browning a-bolt or x-bolt rifle. Which do you think would be better. And also what kind of scope should I get him something that is good and he will be able to make shots out to 400 yards, but isn’t real expensive. These are my top 5 for caliber choices. 1. 300 wsm, 2. 7mm Remington Mag, 3. 270 wsm., 4. 30-06, 5. 300 Win. Mag. I want a caliber that can take javelina all the way to bear and elk.
I don’t know why people are so excited about the word “MAGNUM” following the cartridge they are shooting. With a 30-06 you will NEVER have a problem finding ammo. There are more bullet styles and weights available in any other caliber for the 30 caliber. Not to mention the 30-06 has been around for over 100 years and probably killed more game in North America and beyond that the other 4 cartridges combined.
