Beach Hunting

I was 12 when I first went to Long Beach Island (known by locals as LBI), my parents had rented a beach house and was the summer a lifetime. His decades later, now, I'm an adult with children, but I wondered about the possibility of returning to my youth, or at least, the introduction of my own children to treasure barrier island in the Atlantic Ocean.

Over the years it became LBI A favorite spot for celebrities and the rich and because of this, Several sports clubs formed, taking advantage of the excellent wildlife and LBI fishing. Today is a quiet and peaceful (except weekends and holidays) and still a spirit of "being a good neighbor" that makes this an ideal place for families.

The railroad was the first to build a bridge, making the island more accessible and possibly adding to its popularity. Although the original bridge has been long destroyed by the storms, a causeway allowing easy access.
LBI today is very different from the island I visited with my father, is now home to a dozen different communities, some with long histories, others who went from the simple life-saving stations on the beach.
And while it is very different, remains the same with the cool ocean breeze, long white beaches and a distinctive personality.
