is it legal to own predatory birds? and use for hunting?

i just saw videos of Mongolians who used eagles to hunt, they were hunting foxes and wolves it was pretty cool. id rather use this method than a gun.is it legal to own a eagle, hawk , or falcon, and use them for hunting? i live in the bay area, california, us. and i dontk now the law on this

You can own birds of prey legally as a licensed falconer. Other than that, no one can own these birds legally besides zoos, wildlife sancuaries etc. There are strict guidelines and training that goes along with being a falconer. You must first train as an apprentice to an already licensed falconer for 2 years before you can even attempt to purchase your own bird. See more info here:
