Deers Hunting Games

Something I notice really funny about american and (china) asian diet?

animals that american do not eat and keep as pets, asian eats them as an exotic cuisine or vice versa.

easiest example are dogs and cat, lol
another example are toads/ frogs,
lol maybe snakes too
some american keep them as pet, but asians eats them.

another one i just found before i made this question, are the mantis shrimp
american keeps them as pet, but in China they are the most exclusive dish serve in china. Man, are they delicious.

what american eat, asians don’t eat but rather keep as pets
such as bears, american hunt wild game, while china keep panda as sacred government properties.

another is deers, american hunt them as wild game, while china don’t eat them but rather use them as herbal medicine

those are the some i can think of, but it is really interesting lol
lol but i seen a lot of those caucasian folk walking around china town with cameras, they act surprise like wow you eat sea snails, urchins, and frogs?

That’s a huge generalization.

I’ve seen ‘pissing shrimp’ – mantis shrimp – in dishes in western restaurants, though they’re certainly not as ubiquitous as in Cantonese. But I’ve never seen one in a Hunan cuisine restaurant, or even Anhui.

Dogs and cats are a prohibited food in Hong Kong, and are looked on with revulsion by every Cantonese HKer I’ve met as a hillbilly, backward tradition.

Frog’s legs are very, very popular in European cuisine, and you can get them at plenty of American French restaurants, or in New Orleans restaurants.

Pandas have been eaten in the past, but they’re supposedly not very tasty, they are endangered, they are a patriotic symbol of China/tourist attraction, and therefore, the Commie gov’t is very protective of them.
