is it legal for my father to carry a handgun during a…?
my father and i are turkey hunting in a WMA next month, in this same WMA they trapped 80 hogs in something like a week, and during the 4 day deer hunt we were there last year we saw 2 people kill a 300+ plus pound boar, it says in the letter we were sent that only i (the child) can hunt, and carry a hunting firearm since its a adult child hunt, but i was wondering if it would be legal for my father to carry a handgun for boar defense during the hunt? it says nothing about that in the letter or in the regs, and there’s no DNR during turkey season (im not joking, no DNR at all) to ask.
how do i find out for sure that it would be legal, i want to keep safe and out of jail lol.

Actually, in Louisiana and Arkansas, there is no season for wild hogs. That means, anyone, with or without a hunting license can hunt hogs at any time of the year. I’m not sure about Georgia though.
The concealed carry permit should not matter as long as he does not conceal the weapon. If he carries the gun in a hip holster, or a shoulder holster outside his outer clothing layer then it is not concealed.
I honestly think he should be able to carry a sidearm with him anytime he is the woods, but my suggestion would be to contact your state wildlife agency and ask. I would suggest making sure to write down the name of person you talk to with the wildlife agency. If you can’t find a number elsewhere to contact the wildlife agency, call a non emergency number for you local police department, and ask them who to contact.
