Hunting Netherlands

what are best places in netherlands/holland?

i will be staying 27.07-3.8 in groningen and want to travel little around. i will be traveling exclusively by train. i am hunting for nice opportunities to shot great photos of the netherlands life style, old buildings etc

one day tour would be groningen-rotterdam-delft-haag

any other proposals?

Why not try Arnhem and/or Nijmegen, both near the German border and about 2 1/2 hours away by train. Eastern Netherlands is often overlooked as a tourist destination, but i honestly do not know why. Nijmegen in particular is a very picturesque city, and built on a hill (yes! a hill) overlooking the river Waal, which is a ‘never sleeping’ transport route for all river traffic from Germany and as far away as Switzerland en route to Rotterdam Amsterdam Antwerp (B) etc.
Among Nijmegen’s boasts is that it is the oldest city in the Netherlands, and that it has more outdoor terrace seating per capita than any other city in the Netherlands including Amsterdam. Ladies (so I’m told) love the shopping in the city. Loads of designer gear :o ( apparently.
Plus, of course, the area is steeped in 2nd World War history
