In Texas, how old must a kid be to get a hunting license?
I was told it was 13. Is this correct?
Also, does the boy have to have a certificate from a hunting safety course?
In Texas children under 9 must be accompanied by a licensed hunter. Children 9-16 must have taken a hunter safety education course or be accompanied by a licensed hunter. 17 and over must either have taken the course or you can get a deferral and be accompanied by a licensed hunter. This applies to people born after 9-2-72.
