The African hunting dog (Lycaon pictus) is a mammal of the Canidae family as it relates to the domestic dog. It is the only species of its genus – Lycaon. As its name implies, can only be found in Africa, especially in scrub savanna and other sparsely wooded. These dogs hunt in packs and prayer are the main Impala and other similar medium-sized ungulates. These dogs are very popular for its strength, as well as being highly intelligent hunters.
These Dogs have been observed hunting prey in relays, or even block, one that could be a potential escape route from the dam sad. His voice is unique, since it is characterized by an unusual chirping / squeaking sound. The reason that this race is now almost extinct, is their need for a large territory. They are also very vulnerable to attacks by their competitors direct, hyenas and lions, mainly because of its relatively small physical. These dogs are known to have a very complex social system, in which related adult members cooperate to produce a single litter of puppies each year.
