No charges for man who shot at immigrants, while hunting in Texas Laredo, Texas – A hunter who fatally shot an illegal immigrant in a South Texas ranch when he mistook the man for a hog should not be charged, a grand jury has decided Maverick County. The grand jury of any bill means Jaime Gonzalez will not be charged with homicide or criminally negligent homicide for shooting in 2004 near El Indio. Gonzalez, Eagle Pass, had told authorities he was shooting a wild pig of about 150 yards away when Celestino Lopez was beaten in the abdomen.
It is interesting that the shooter also has a Spanish surname.
